Context

This survey was born from personal experience: after more than ten years as a 3D animator in Angoulême, I began retraining as a Business Intelligence Analyst. I wanted to shed light on the real working conditions of professionals in the animation industry – a sector often seen as “creative and glamorous,” but whose internal dynamics are rarely documented.
My goal: use data to provide factual insights useful to former colleagues, studios, schools, and public decision-makers.

Datasets

  • Anonymous survey administered via Google Forms and aggregated in Google Sheets.
  • Panel: 150 respondents (animators, riggers, storyboarders, leads, etc.) working in France
  • 28 questions covering working conditions, health, salary, mobility, and industry perception
  • Metadata: gender, role, experience (no personal data collected)

Workflow

  1.  Questionnaire design (closed/Likert questions, bias control)
  2.  Cleaning & anonymization in Google Sheets (validation, data typing)
  3. Exploratory Data Analysis: distributions, cross-analysis (pivots)
  4. Statistical Analyses: percentages, univariate and multivariate analysis
  5.  Fast visualizations (Chart Sheets), then formatted as a storytelling PDF presentation and dashboard
  6.  Blog article writing (problem–data–insight–call to action structure)

  • Mental health: 75% experienced at least one burnout, 73% suffer from sleep disorders
  • Physical health: 23% report chronic posture-related pain
